Cell Phones For Soldiers Expands National Reach

Cell Phones For Soldiers is expanding its reach to help even more military personnel and veterans through its Helping Heroes Home program.

Through strategic partnerships with other nonprofits that provide necessary services to veterans and military personnel, Cell Phones For Soldiers has committed more than $75,000 to organizations such as the Massachusetts Military Heroes Fund, K9s for Warriors, Jeff Coombs Fund, the Folded Flag Foundation, the Shepherd Center SHARE Military Initiative, and more. Cell Phones For Soldiers is continuing to expand its partnerships.

“Helping Heroes Home has helped thousands of veterans with one-time emergency needs,” says Cell Phones For Soldiers Founder and CEO Rob Bergquist. “Now, along with partner organizations who have the experience and infrastructure to best care for our nation’s heroes, we will be able to expand our reach with positive, meaningful, and sustainable support for the men and women who have served the United States.”

About Cell Phones For Soldiers

Rob and Brittany Bergquist, siblings and natives of Norwell, Massachusetts, founded Cell Phones For Soldiers in 2004 with a mission to help troops call home at no charge. At the time, the Bergquists were just 12 and 13 years old. To date, the organization has provided more than 400 million minutes of free talk time to deployed American servicemen and women from all branches of the military.

Cell Phones For Soldiers is a national nonprofit 501(c)3 organization dedicated to providing cost-free communication services, devices, and emergency funding to active-duty military members and veterans. The Minutes That Matter program has for more than 17 years provided free calls to deployed troops. Established in 2012, Helping Heroes Home has dedicated funds to help more than 7,500 veterans and their families by assisting with communication challenges as well as physical, emotional, and assimilation hardships.

Cell Phones For Soldiers recycles unwanted, outdated, or broken mobile devices to fund its mission of helping our troops and veterans by securely refurbishing the devices or reselling their valuable parts. Through individual and large-group organizations, Cell Phones For Soldiers has kept more than 20 million devices from entering landfills, where mobile e-waste can cause significant environmental harm.
